The above says it all, you either like 'em or you don't!
  Fortunately for me, my Dad's Dad bought one back in around 1960, so I'm now the third in line to own a Bug! These two photos show my father with his '63 in 1986, and in 1995, fresh from a much needed restoration.
Dad's had the '63 since 1971 and for me, having grown up being driven around in such a car, it was hardly surprising that I wanted nothing else once I was old enough.
Back in 1986, we took KEO on the first RAC Classic, a 'rally' which has now grown to feature start points all over the UK and even one in France, all descending on Silverstone race circuit in Northamptonshire. The laps around the circuit were of course just for fun, and not competitive. Officially anyway...
