Reassembly was fairly straightforward - unlike the first time around I knew I had all of the parts and how they went together!

Most of the parts were perfectly reusable having only done twenty thousand miles since the original restoration. However clearly some parts along the offside had to be replaced - chrome trim, window frames, door handle, running board etc etc etc.

This shot in the garage shows the improvement after the polishing. The front bumper is the original - the chrome is dull but it is genuine German steel so still solid!

The old interior went back in okay, albeit around the new sunroof opening. I was reasonably pleased with how well the roof sealed, having read nothing but uncomplimentary reports on after market sunroof kits...

Other than the hole in the roof, the Bug went back together pretty much as it was was before the bump.
